The Carian Study Hall stands as one of the most intriguing and mysterious architectural marvels within the Lands Between. Located along the eastern cliffs of Liurnia, this expansive library serves as a gateway to crucial questlines and formidable encounters. Finding the structure and understanding how to unlock its hidden potential requires navigating both physical geography and intricate lore progressions.
Locating the Carian Study Hall in Liurnia
To reach the Carian Study Hall, players must travel to the eastern landmass of the Liurnia of the Lakes region. The building sits directly along the eastern coastline, positioned south of the Eastern Tableland and north of Jarburg. Adventurers can easily approach the entrance by heading east from the Academy Gate Town Site of Grace across the terrain.
Once you arrive at the southeastern cliffs, look for a large stone complex with a grand entrance hall. Inside, you will immediately find the Study Hall Entrance Site of Grace to rest and prepare. A large celestial globe pedestal stands in the center of the lobby, playing a pivotal role in fully accessing the structure.
Navigating the Standard Study Hall Walkthrough
During your initial visit, the Carian Study Hall functions in its upright state. You will face spectral scholar enemies alongside Preceptor Miriam, a powerful mini-boss who uses long-range sorceries like Loretta's Greatbow. Defeating Miriam requires patience as she teleports higher up the library tiers whenever she takes significant damage.
Ascending through the elevators and climbing the upper rafters will reward observant players with valuable items. The top of the standard layout contains the Cerulean Seed Talisman, which boosts FP restoration from your flasks. However, the path leading across the massive eastern bridge remains blocked during this initial exploration.
How to Invert the Carian Study Hall
Unlocking the deeper secrets of the tower requires obtaining a key item known as the Carian Inverted Statue. This item is awarded by Ranni the Witch after you deliver the Fingerslayer Blade to her as part of her questline. Returning to the Study Hall with this statue allows you to interact with the celestial globe pedestal near the entrance.
Placing the statue on the pedestal triggers a sequence that turns the entire dungeon upside down. Gravity flips within the interior, opening brand new paths along ceiling rafters and inverted arches. Navigating this altered version leads to the elevator shaft, which ultimately grants access to the Divine Tower of Liurnia.
